3 2 1 Departure

All week long I have been sending people to this new place in Portland. I am quite sure Departure will be one of the hottest place for visitors  to go for a night on the town or for locals to enjoy during Pioneer Courthouse Square events.  I loved my Shy Geisha cocktail and really loved our noodle dishes, the Naked BLT and the Pork Rolls. We will be back soon to hang out on the great overlook decks! Buzzby. P.S. - Can you believe the number of staff from Bluehour that work here?

The other Brian goes out dinner

My friend Brian G. sent me this yesterday and it is now on my list of places to go! "I enjoyed a Sunday evening dinner at Bernie's Southern Bistro at 2904 NE Alberta Street ( berniesbistro.com ), not far from the "Last Thursday" section. I arrived early, so walked up and down Alberta Street, and was intrigued with the shops and galleries. We were seated at a window table decorated nicely with colorful throw pillows, and both started with the Southern Belle (because I like Gin). I had to comment on the two dudes sitting at the window with the "pink" drinks when we were served. We ordered from the $3. Bar menu. The Hush Puppies with orange jalapeno marmalade and the Sweet Potato Fires with a smokin' tomato dipping sauce were amazing. We enjoyed quite a few southern vegetables dishes... which worked out great, as I later discovered that my guest was indeed a vegetarian. I understand they have a nice patio that is open in the warmer season. It was great!" yum, Brian G.

Ping Restaurant will open on Tuesday, February 17th.(Tonight!)
Hours of operation are 4pm to 10pm, Monday through Saturday. Ping Restaurant located at 102 NW 4th Avenue on the corner of NW 4th and Couch in Chinatown.
Sorry Jen and Michelle, they do not accept reservations. Three weeks ago Ping had a great VIP party for neighbors and business owners in Old Town Chinatown (OTCT).
